The awareness of the fact that children can die is often suppressed, since it confronts us with the fundamental issues of human existence in a particularly drastic way. In ELEFANT IM RAUM the children’s and teenagers’ perspectives on disease and death are taken seriously. It is not tales of suffering that this project focuses on but rather the insights that these young people, who have had to deal far too early with the notions of death and survival, have to offer us.
This project was awarded the FAKTOR KUNST PREIS of the Montag Stiftung/Bonn in 2011.
