I’LL HAVE TO CHECK WHETHER I’M THERE AT ALL

The project ICH MUSS GUCKEN, OB ICH DA BIN was realized as part of the campaign ERINNERN VERGESSEN: KUNSTSTÜCKE DEMENZ, which offered new approaches to the delicate theme of dementia by theatrical means, organized by the Schlosstheater Moers. It is staged with three professional actors and seven people with dementia. This artistic treatment aims at visualizing strange and surprising aspects of dementia and at deepening our understanding of people suffering from dementia. It also intends to discuss issues of social solidarity that come up in the context of caring for dementia sufferer.

ICH MUSS GUCKEN, OB ICH DA BIN was nominated for the German theater award DER FAUST in the category BESTE REGIE (best production) in 2006. The production was also awarded the Robert Jungk Preis and the NRW TICKET KULTURPREIS 2006.
